A standard issue Organised Crime Squad weapon, the Glock 17 is designed to be used primarily as a deterrent, but police firearms officers are instructed to use them as a last resort.

This is easily the most common and basic weapon in both The Getaway and The Getaway: Black Monday. It is Mark Hammond and Frank Carter's basic weapon, in nearly every mission they will have one of these. It has moderate power, and it's best suited to medium range combat.

The Glock 17 has a fast rate of fire, and has a rather large clip size of 18 rounds, which is more than enough to take care of a couple of gang members that aren't too heavily armed. The Glock 17 is also great for shooting explosive objects, such as fuel drums and gas cylinders. It is also a pretty accurate gun, so if you want to shoot out the tires of a car, this is the gun to do it with. The Glock 17 is usually found on armed cops and gang members, so it is not a hard gun to find. It is therefore wise to use it as often as you want, because its ammunition is very common. It is also dual wieldable, meaning you can use two of them at the same time.

Due to the way the mechanics work in the Getaway 1, the Player will only get 1 full reload of Dual Glocks per pick-up and cannot get more until they fully exhaust their previous ammo supply, when this happens the Player Character will discard their left Glock and reload their right, this means the player is on their last magazine but can now pick up another Glock to replenish their ammo.

In addition, Free Aim with Dual Glocks will have the left Glock somehow hold 36 Bullets since the game will count the single Glock as having the capacity of both Glocks at once.

In Black Monday, The player can always pick up more ammo after using a handful of Shots instead of having to use up all their ammo first.
