Johnny Chai was a minor character in The Getaway. He was a member of the triads who was severely tortured and beaten by Bethnal Green Mob members Sparky and Jake Jolson. Johnny died of his wounds and he was driven back to Chinatown by Mark Hammond.

Johnny died of his wounds and he was driven back to Chinatown by Mark Hammond. When the Triads saw his body, they chased after Mark who lured them to Hollywell Street. This turned out to be Yardie territory, and hence the two gangs fought each other.
